My car was always running to hot, the more rpm the hotter it got, after changing the radiator fans, removing the thermostat a CO Leak test brought the certainty that one head gasket was shot.

Finally I decided to have it fixed and will use the opportunity to improve/replace certain aged parts after almost 20 years of my car's life.

  1. bringing the car
  2. removing the engine
  3. removing the left head
  4. cleaning and detailing thermostat housing
  5. cleaning and detailing carb velocity stacks
  6. stainless steal headers (not installed, sent back)
  7. insulating engine bay
  8. removing the right head
  9. detailing further parts, distributor mount etc
  10. cleaning the Carbs
  11. cleaning the Cylinder Heads
  12. Refreshing and insulating the original headers
  13. detailing and overhouling the water pump
  14. Clutch and Flywheel
  15. cleaning the engine block
  16. relocating the fuel filter
  17. reinstalling the heads
  18. ignition: distributor and plug wires
  19. replacing broken brake ducts
  20. refreshing the water pipes
  21. preparing the engine for installation
  22. installing the engine
  23. tuning the engine and drive home...
