Detailing and overhouling the Water Pump

Also the water pump will now be detailed and of course once it's out be overhouled...

There are mainly 4 thing that need to be replace.

1. the bearing of the drive shaft, this is a closed dry bearing which prevents that water gets into the oil circuit. Part number #36 = 8501705 = 6203-2 RS EXALN17
2. the seal ring for the water side, part number #42 = 8611703 = B25342
3. the inner gasket to the engine block, part number #38 = 1700391
4. the outer gasket between the two halfs of the pump, part number #47 = 1704578

If your water pump is leaking the seal ring went bad, there is a little hole on the bottom of the flange where the water rins out, this is planned to prevent having water in the engine's oil.
It would be enough to replace this seal ring, but since the bearing runs dry it should also be replaced finally you should take the whole water pump out to do it properly.
The problem is the screw at the bottom because it's covered by the frame around the engine.
