Countach Ignition Upgrade
lamborghini countach msd ignition upgrade
Hello Raymond,
Yes, I installed one in a 1988 Countach. I sent the 7AL unit to MSD
to have it change for a 12 cylinder and used their Blaster coil. As
far as wiring the MSD, I just went by the MSD instructions except that
I wired the constant power (12+) wire and the switched power wire together
to a switched 12V source. Wire the 12V constant power lead to a terminal
with 12V all the time and when you turn off the ignition switch to shut
the car down, it will keep running. I believe that we used the 7800RPM
rev limiter chip. I did my own rigging to get the fuel pumps to work.

The pictures are a little out of order and maybe a little misleading
but pictures # 22 thru #25 were the final solution. We also installed
MSD wires later on. The car has now been through 2 owners since we did
this and so far is working fine. It wasn't a plug and play, and maybe
it isn't what some people would like to do but it worked for us.
